Amensia Quit Unexpectedly

I just downloaded Amnesia: The Dark Descent from the app store. When I try to open Amnesia, it then says that Amnesia has quit unexpectedly.
My mac info is:
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.2

It might not be compatible with your Intel graphic card. I mean, I think it should be able to run on most Intel HD ones, but I'm not certain.

Well, your log stopped just before it got to the OpenGL version. Mind that your graphic card needs to support OpenGL 2.1.0 or higher to run Amnesia.

All Mac models with an Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor (as well as some but not all of the earlier ones with Intel Core 2 Duo processors) use graphic cards that supports OpenGL 3.3 or later, regardless whether they are equipped with Intel HD, Intel Iris Pro, AMD Radeon, NVIDIA GeForce or other cards.

All present Macs support OpenGL 4.1 or later, regardless of processor.

I have the same problem as OP... except I have played this game on this machine (2010 MBP, GeForce GT 330M) before I upgraded to Mavericks.

It really annoys me that a game that I honestly paid for stopped working!

There are problems with Mavericks that cause this. If OP has that same OS, then I'm going to assume the problem is just that. I don't know what Apple changed in their core, but something caused many apps to remain incompatible when they updated. As for Amnesia, there are patches being developed to support it, but they have not been released yet.

I'm having the same problem on my Macbook Pro, but rather worryingly, I actually did manage to run the game fine the day before, so I suspected it had something to do with deleting the main_settings.cfg file. This hasn't worked. So what exactly is going on here?
