Franz Schubert inspiration?

Hey guys. I was just listening some classical music and I found Schuberts Ave Maria, and it sounded very familiar for me. After listening it couple times, I found out that it reminds me a lot of Dieses Herz. (especially the beggining)

What do you think about this?

Ave Maria

Dieses Herz

RE: Franz Schubert inspiration?

they have quite a few similarities, yes.

Both of them are sung in German (or at least contain German lyrics) and share the same instruments.

Though i have to say that "Dieses Herz" is a bit faster paced then "Ave Maria" or a bit more... dramatic of some sort.

Dieses Herz (in english "This heart") is one of the best pieces of music I ever heard in a video game. Nice to have it in german. I was really surprised to hear a german song in an english game :-)
