If you remember I started to play Skyrim a while ago. Then I paused it, played Risen 3, and now I want to continue Skyrim. I am level 26 and in Solitude.
But this town is extremely big. The world is extremely big. Too big. Where should I go to continue story line? I do not know what the main quest is. I have so much quests and everything is far away from me. Where I go, everything seems to be infinite big.
Is it normal that you need thousands of hours for Skyrim? Or is there a way to play the story? How do you finish this endless game?
just look in your quest log. fortunately, the dovahkiin have a magical GPS quest marker device that points you to wherever your quest is, so you never get lost.

Yeah, I already had this activated. The problem is that when I solve one quest I get 20 new. And everytime I have the feeling to miss a lot of content when I don't look in any house, talk with every NPC or search the world for caves etc. I have the bad feeling to miss a lot of things in the world, but to explore everything means that you need much time - very much. And I ended up to think it's boring.
I would prefer a smaller, solid world with more story depth. But I want to finish the game. It is just too big, too much quantity instead of quality.

Have you been paying attention to the story the game gives you? It's mostly that the dragons attack, you discover you are Dragonborn, and you have to help defeat the dragons. When I played Skyrim I found it mostly very obvious how to follow the main story's mission since each main story quest almost always feeds right into the other.
If all else fails you could always go look up a walkthrough.
