How much violence is OK for a video game?

That's a good point about those movies. No one seem to be bothered with them, however looking back into the past, everyone were shocked by the movie Psycho because it was "so horrifying." By todays standards, it's kinda silly, but a great classic nonetheless. So basically movies have evolved into accepting these sort of things. I can only assume games haven't yet. This might be the early steps down that same path.

Valve took it back to Steam because they make money with it.

If they wanted to make money with it they wouldn't have taken it down in the first place. You could go all conspiracy theory with this and say it in turn generates MORE money because of publicly, but I think that's thinking too far.

Props to whoever wrote the opening dialogue for that trailer, it has me in stitches every time I see this video

Oh yes I should've mentioned that. It was so cheesyily edgy that it was almost happy-go-lucky in how hilariously ridiculous it was. I had to stiffle my laughter.

Granted though the games may not be very good, and I don't think they do the games medium any justice, but if people want to make it they can go ahead.

That's an incredibly dumb argument, murder is illegal in real life, murder is not illegal in media.

Sexual intercourse with a child is illegal in real life, and illegal in media.

What point are you trying to get across here?

In that case we can't have drugs in games anymore either, because that's illegal too! So let's pull all games with drugs.
