Hello. Maybe someone will help me?
I have bought Penumbra Overture Full (polish version) in TopSeller Collection.
Penumbra works correctly on intel X3100 (newest drivers - many other games which didn't want to work with older drivers works correctly now).
But textures in this game often looks like coloured chessboard. It is visible rather with specific look angle, so when my hero looks straight forward it looks good, but when he looks on floor or ceiling chessboard can be seen.

I know that there is patch for this game, and my problem is that I can't target the one. On support frictional page I have found patch version 1.0.3.
It shall be for Overture Full (as page says). But when I tried to install it, splash screen informs me that patch is for "Episode 1" version (WTF?). What the hack is Episode 1 version - a demo?
I have found another patch for Penumbra version 1.1 unofficaly but I dont know what is it. I dont want to screw my game and reinstall it.
Please help - which patch?

Episode One is Penumbra: Overture .
1.1 patch is for the game released in 2006. You can download that for free... It's Penumbra Tech Demo (different from all the other Penumbras and on nowdays almost every Tech Demo you download includes that patch).

You bought Penumbra Collection, right?
If I'm not totally wrong that includes all the latest patches for the games...

Yes, I bought it as Collection of two games - the second is Black Plague.
But that it is in collection is not as sure as it contains any latest patches.
Is there any way to check this? Maybe by checking exe file version (you know, right click, properties, and there should be some info)?
If I have latest version, and latest intel X3100 drivers what can I do to
eliminate chessboard texture effect?

Doesn't it include Requiem?
Though I have no idea about the graphics card driver you are using...

Ok, I have in game's folder file changelog.txt which describes fixes for 1.03, so I think that patch 1.03 is inside.
No. Only Overture and Black Plague is in package.
Driver for X3100 on WinXP: 6.14.10.5029.

I look closer to texture problem, and it seems that the light is the problem.
When there is no light source that everything is ok. But any light like lamp or flashlight make texture shining with incorrectly mixed colored textures (like chessboard or worse).
I know that intel is not superior in gaming, but my others 3D games with dynamic lighting doesn't seem to have similar problems. For example:
I played Tomb Raider: Legend, Anniversary, Sega Outrun 2006, Soldier of Fortune, Unreal, Farenheit and more and there wasn't problem at all.

Try to lower the shader setting in the graphics options in game, it sounds as though it is the colour specular that is the problem. Use medium/normal instead of high and it might fix it.

Thanks, I just wanna write it down now but it seems you have passed me. I have tested with games settings, and shaders set on medium make lights works perfectly, even flashlight now can drop light.
So think that this thread is done.
