Not really! Ellen Ripley started off as someone like Philip - an ordinary, scared woman who ran away and hid from the monster and only fought back when cornered. Besides, Frictional's protagonists and Ripley have both used their surroundings to indirectly take down their enemies - Ripley used airlocks, Philip's killing of the rock worm and Swanson, and Mandus' use of a lantern to electrify a Pig.

What about a floating flashlight, glowstick, flare, hammer, pickaxe, broom, meat, or stick of dynamite? Well, he'll be a voice with telekinesis then. Maybe he or she'll be another disembodied floating manhand. That does interest me, will there be some sort of portable light source equivalent to the lantern and flashlight? It seems like it would sort of break the Frictional tradition to take something like that out.

And the Aliens happened and she began carrying an assault rifle with a flamethrower that were bigger than her, lol.

Do remember that James Cameron AKA the Terminator Guy directed the sequel. Ridley Scott, on the other hand, had a prequel where the protagonist was an ordinary scientist.

Ripley of the original movie would make a good model for a game like SOMA. I didn't say the sequels, which end up with her being a super clone with acid blood.

Never happened. Nope.
*In denial*
And it WOULD be really cool. Wish they'd start teasing us again.

Yeah. I love it when game developers give us puzzles to solve from time to time.
Also, the 4th alien movie was not that bad.
