If I may ask, and I am not entirely sure if someone already asked this and you guys answered, but will the inventory be there again? That was kind of a downer with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (Which, either way, I loved)

From the SOMA info portal:

According to the previews from April 2014, there is no active inventory screen from which items can be selected or combined, but the game does feature an inventory insofar as the player retains the picked up items for later use; the items appear on-screen in the player's hand when they are proximate to an area in which the item can be used. The player can check which items they're currently carrying using a hotkey.

Ok, thank you, that's honestly really nice to know, since that was kind of a downer with Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, the lack of an inventory.

Hopefully it'll be much better now

RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread

On the topic of the inventory, I'd like to ask someone from FG if the inventory was always there, or if it was only added later in development. The reason I ask is that all of the previews (without exception) from 2014 stated that there was no inventory in the game at all, and that collected items would appear on-screen automatically when needed. But in the gameplay videos released during E3 2015 (like here) there is an on-screen hint reminding players how to access their inventory screen.

I'd also like to get clarification on whether or not the inventory screen is "interactive", i.e. can items be selected/combined, or is it just an overview of the things the player has collected so far?

Cheers dudes
