Hello. I haver a problem where the mouse cursor will flicker, lag and disappear all the time making the game unplayable. Also the resolution is wrong regardless of settings.

I never had this problem prior to upgrading to Windows 10.

I had the same problem with a Machine for Pigs but it got fixed by downloading the latest patch for it. No such luck for the Dark Descent unfortunately.

Any ideas?

I've attached the hpl.log.

Did the game crash on exit? The log ends as if it did. Have you tried running the game in window mode, just to see if that fixes the flicker issue?

Can you describe how the resolution is wrong regardless of setting?

I have to quit the game using ctrl-alt-del. That's probably why the log says that.

Running it in windowed mode seems to have fixed the mouse problem. But the resolution problem persists. I found that the resolution will correct itself if open the task manager (fullscreen) and then go back in the game, but it doesn't seem work in windowed mode.

The resolution problem is basically that the picture is bigger than my screen.

Possibly this is some Windows 10 error, we have not tested the game yet with Windows 10. But please do this check (assuming it has not changed from 8.1):

Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalisation -> Display and then there is a section that says something like "Change the size of all items". Make sure the slider is to the left, or if it is a percentage make sure it is 100%.

The slider was all the way to the left, but I moved it up then down to the left again and that seemed to fix it. Must have been an error in the upgrade to win 10.

Now everything seems to work. Thank you for your help. Smile
