and change <Engine LimitFPS="true".. /> to "false" and turn on Vsync again

You could try reinstalling the drivers but I dont think that will help

Any chance using the 15.8 beta is the problem? Have you checked this driver? Im only using it right now because MGSV runs considerably better with it.

I have not tried the Beta drivers. I run 15.7.1 myself. So it could be an issue with the beta drivers as you say

I saw this tip elsewhere and gave it a go, but no joy.

Is anybody else reading this using an Intel+AMD switchable graphics laptop?

Putting aside the tearing/stuttering for the moment. Can the devs confirm setting the game to 50fps on a 50hz display works? When I try that option, the game runs at 30fps.

I tested by putting the desktop to 40hz, I then got 30fps in game when I set the refresh rate in options to 40. If I set refresh rate in options to 60 I get 40 fps when running 40 hz. We'll look into this tomorrow, not entirely sure how it should work (not my field of expertise).

Thanks Jens.

Ive been trying out as many options as possible. I just cant shake the tearing. Its like the game hasn't really got a good grip of the vsync. Whether running at 30,59 or 60, it tears. The tears travel down the screen at a rate of one per second. What you would expect to see with a game running at 59 or 61 on a 60hz display, without vsync. I've rolled back to the official 15.7.1 drivers but no changes.

Todays updates didn't help my problem. I still get tearing with vsync , no matter what the settings. Even at a locked 30fps. Whether im looking at an intensive scene or at a wall.

As I said in my previous post, its how you would expect a game to look if it was running at a constant 61fps on a 60hz screen with vsync off.

Can you try (a second time as I know you already done it) to turn of vsync in game and turn it on in the control panel for card? There was another amd user that reported this fixed his problems https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...#pid325909

No trouble Jens. I gave it another go, but the result is exactly the same; solid 60fps with screen tearing.

Just to be sure, I ran several other 3d demos and games. I wanted to know if the driver vsync was working or not. Seems to be ok.
