Screen freezes on loading screen when continuing game

I've looked in the troubleshooting guide and google with no luck

I continue my game and it gives me the little message about the story (Simon on the broken ship CURIE). Then the game is on and I can hear the enviroment, myself turn my flashlight off and on, jumping, etc. but my screen still shows the loading screen.

I've tried verifying cache but don't know what to do

I managed to fix it by loading a game saved 1 minute before the last one. So instead of continuing game, I loaded the 2nd to last save
