Yeah, I think it's fake.

The owner's name is Timmy Sjostedt, and he has a GitHub profile here. His main website, iostream.se, looks suspiciously similar to the skilaboeth site, even using the same font. And where else do we see the iostream.se domain? It's the skilaboeth owner's contact email address, as shown in the whois:



And the whois info for iostream.se shows the domain is owned by someone called timmys5103-00001.

I don't think the site owner would do anything nefarious with our addresses though, certainly not when all of his personal info was so readily available to a dumb-ass like me. He just seems to be a primo nerd (that's a compliment).

I wonder if there's actually any secret message to be decoded, or if it was just a time sink from the beginning. I'm not bothering with it anymore myself, but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Hoax or not, has anybody managed to decrypt this code? It could still hide something interesting!

Even if it the webpage is not actually owned by FG, the domain appears to belong to a programmer / beta tester, maybe he / she was involved with the production of the game or the movies in some way...

I'm leaning towards Paddy™'s info showing that this is not an official ARG.
The only doubt I have is that Frictional haven't posting in this thread something like "it's not us, might be best to not give out emails".
