Drawers in SOMA.
I don't know if this should even be a thread or not and I checked in levels from SOMA to reference but couldn't get any help from it. I commonly see it in other custom campaigns, and see the problem is that I can't get drawers or file cabinets to open/close correctly. Pretty much all of the time they don't close all of the way or even close at all after opened. Sometimes they do open and close correctly, but the top drawer in say a small file cabinet always glitches, (it's kind of hilarious), and then maybe carries the other drawers with it through the ground or flies away somewhere while they all spin in circles. Any help?

RE: Drawers in SOMA.
Drawers and the things they go in are all separate entities, meaning under normal conditions they will collide with each other. What you need to do is set the drawers and the base entity to a collide group (set the cabinet to "-drawer" and the drawers to "+drawer", or something similar) so the drawers won't collide to the cabinets. As for the drawers colliding with each other, fixing that is going to require some fine tuning on your part to get them positioned just right so they aren't so close that they will harass each other but close enough so that there aren't any noticeable gaps.

So they do open and close correctly, but the positioning is still incorrect for some reason. I make them slightly apart from eachother, maybe it's colliding with the cabinet, but it's always the top drawer though. I don't know, should show a picture from the editor? I looked at other maps and it looks like i am doing it correctly.

I really need help though. The positioning never works for the top drawer for some reason, and I'm doing it exactly the way frictional games did their drawers. I'm spacing them correctly but nothing works.

I've got that cabinet in one of my maps and it seems to be working fine. Could you PM me your map file?

Umm, maybe I might just be stupid, but how exactly do I PM you my file? There isn't really an option to do so. Should I just attach a file here?

Click on my name and select "Send Abion47 a message". Then you can either attach a zip of your map files to the message or upload them somewhere (like MediaFire or whatever) and send me the link.

Or, under his message, simply click the "PM" button.
