That be giving you two copies of the game when you only payed for one. If you convert it to a Steam key like I will, then that's all you will get. No disc.

I know, but I already bought it direct, and grabbed the physical DVD from Amazon.com, I don't really want to buy it a third time just to have it show up on my Steam games page. Tongue

You can always set the non-Steam games to show into the Steam's gamelist, if you want.

But, for his case he would have to switch out dvds to play the correct game.

Also, is there even a way to tell a game to use the Steam icons? The big ones on the tile view of the games library. I added Penumbra games to my games list, but they only used the tiny desktop icons which are ugly when placed right next to the huge art the Steam games I have.

RE: Steam Convertion

I have a question about Steam and preordering and conversion and such..well it is loosely related anyhow. As a lot of you probably know, Steam now supports Mac and has a feature called Steamplay which allows you to play certain games on both PC and Mac computers. I was wondering if this will be used on Amnesia. I own both a PC and a Mac and think it would be cool to be able to play this across both systems, they even make it possible to use the same savegame on both systems, I think through the use of Steamcloud. This wouldn't really be like getting two copies of the game for one price as it would be non-trasferable to third-party buyers. Also on a tangent from that subject, will the Steam version use additional DRM other than the Steam wrapper, because if that is the case, depending on the system used, I would just as soon not support the steam version and just stick to preordering here, which I intend on doing as soon as I have the duckets as I love the penumbra series and want to help support Frictional Games. Thanks in advance for any info you can float my way and sorry if the question was posted elsewhere.

Steamplay yes, steamcloud no (not for initial release anyway), DRM nothing special other than the basic regular Steam (same as Penumbra).

Awesome. Glad to hear I can support my two fave game companies the indie one and the corporate mega-giant, too. lol. Anyways, good luck on the release.
