Hmm, I don't remember that puzzle at all. Was this the library with the secret door?

Yes, that´s the one. The puzzle is in the cave after you exit the library. It´s like a construction site.

Here´s a youtube vid, the puzzle starts at about 6.37, the guy who made the video makes a ramp, just like I did the first time I played:

To clarify, if he had gotten too close to the pipe with the wooden boards, they would´ve gotten stuck.

Really, it turns into a seesaw? I had no idea.

Me neither.

Some Penumbra 2006 TD Hints and a Dutch localisation file can be found at http://atagong.com/penumbra

Ok, I´m gonna play through Black Plague and provide a screenshot or something...

EDIT: Ok, I recorded a video with my cellphone. I apologize for the quality, but I turned up brightness and gamma to compensate.

Yeah, I just pulled the long wooden beam out and made a ramp from the ground to the first platform, pulled off the panel and flicked the ladder switch.

Thanks for the video, spukrian. Why Phillip would make a seesaw instead of a ramp I don't know, but it's nice that the option is there. And hitting that lever with something never crossed my mind either.

Put boxes on farthest side and seesaw will be more stable. Then u can safely go up.

I noticed an interesting thing the other day. If you check the concept drawings for Black Plague you can actually see that the see-saw was the original solution to the puzzle. FG redesigned it eventually, because that whole area is a bit more complex now than what is seen in the drawings.

Nice find, thanks!

Eh, I think that drawing kinda looks like what we have in the game... no redesign there...

EDIT: ok, so the boxes moved a bit. maybe?

Sure, the overall design is the same but the whole area has been expanded to be more complex. There are more things you have to do in order to reach the top than what is in the concept drawing.
