Amnesia The Dark Descent disable fog option?

Hi! I've started to play Amnesia again and I got into the wine cellar. That area is very laggy for me even with the lowest settings. Though... I think there is much fog in that area that may cause lag. As well as in the laboratory. Is there a way to turn it off?
EDIT: Ok, stupid question. I asked this because I read somewhere on steam discussion about a "blue fog" in Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, in which the author wanted to turn it off so the atmosphere could be more "like Amnesia: TDD". I was wondering if this fog exists in TDD and if it's possible to turn it off via game files or something, so maybe I can improve perfomance in certain areas. ( I also heard about a red fog somewhere later in the game ).
