Happend two times now during 2 hours. Framerate suddenly drops to about 10 FPS and the Task Manager shows that Amnesia is using more and more memory. I watched it for a while and it crashed at 1,6 GiB with "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."

ASUS Maximus Formula
Core2Duo E8400 (@3,7 GHz)
Zotac GeForce 9800 GTX AMP! Edition
4 GiB DDR2 RAM
Windows 7 x64

I would supply more detailed info but it's hard without beeing able to use a mouse.

Have you tried turning off Aero and see so there is not a conflict?

Also please supply hpl.log found in "My Documents/Amnesia/Main/"

Aero is automatically turned off when launching the game. I can see that on my second Monitor.

I don't have a H:\ drive by the way.

I would try resetting as outlined here:

in A.2

Might be some effect or setting that is not liked. Perhaps the resoltuion is too high and too much video memory is consumed? (if u have ssao on high, edge smooth, etc ALOT of video ram is used)

I observed the exact same thing and turning off aero seemed to stop it, although I've only played about 40 minutes with it off so far. Might be worth a try?

edit: Just played a further 20 minutes, still hasn't happened again. Note that aero appeared to automatically turn off when launching the game for me too, but turning it off manually still seems to have fixed the issue.
