stuck after finding Agrippa

Ok, so iv found the Agrippa guy and he asked me to find a note to save him, but i cant find out what to do now.
I cant find the note anywhere, i cant find out how to fix the machine with the 2 levers, i cant open those two doors...

If you stand near Agrippa, you can hear a machine working nearby. Maybe you can fix it?

SOLUTION

Move a couple of boxes from under the stairs onto the operating table to the left. Stand on the boxes and look up. Open the trap door in the ceiling. You will see some cogs. Slide the third cog from the left upwards. Now the two levers in the room at the top of the stairs will open the two big doors you need to get through.
