Solved: 8 Years, 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago fatal error

I downloaded the demo

but whenever i try to play it it crashes saying something about a fatal error.

I'm sure my computer is up to speed I have a mac book pro I just got this summer.

If someone could help that would be awesome
Cause I really want this game but I wanna make sure it'll work before I buy it

In ~/Library/Application Support/Frictional Games/Amnesia/ you'll find an hpl.log file, or should, please post it here!

I have the same problem, after trying and trying, I had an apple error report once instead of the window with just "FATAL ERROR : unable to initialize display" so I clicked "relaunch" and the game started fine. I changed the display from 1024 to 1440x900 then quitted and relaunched to make the change and I was unable again to launch the game. I tried to trash the folder of the demo inside user/library/... but nothing changed Sad. Tried to mess with almost every advanced settings in the launch panel but same thing.

Macbook core i7 2.66 Ghz 4 Gb Ram Nvidia 330m

have you made sure you have the latest updates from apple installed?? As this sounds like a graphics driver issue.

Yup, all are done, graphic and system ones Smile. And my desktop mac use an ATI 4890, not supported by apple so I can understand having problems sometimes with it, but the mac book pro is genuine as it could be Smile
