My biggest concern about Amnesia

The game is dark, you are playing in a dark room and suddenly it blinds you with those bright white screen flashes that are constantly appearing throughout the game. I have to close my eyes all the time because this it really hurts. I would really appreciate if there was some option to disable it because this is one of the reasons why i haven't finished the game yet as much as i would want to. Anyone with the same problem or just my eyes?

Stand back, away from your computer monitor, or possibly play with your contrast. The white flashes, meaning the progress made/autosaves, I assume, weren't that bright for me...

Same here, I really need to look the other way or close my eyes, the white is *bright* compared to the darkness of most of the levels.

Exactly, the problem is the game is dark and your eyes are adjusted to it, when it suddenly flashes with such a bright color it's like really blinding. The same thing annoyed me even in the Penumbra games but here in Amnesia it seems to me it's much more obvious and harder for my eyes.

The occasional bright flashes are one of the very few things about Amnesia I didn't like. The game is even darker than Penumbra and when already in a dark room irl, it's pure retina pain. After the first couple of times, I would have to just shut my eyes- which detracted from the Amnesia experience a little.

I never had any problem with flashes being too bright. Do you mean the blue ones when you make progress, or the white ones during flashbacks?
Play with the in game brightness to be at optimum level because I didn't find any problems with it.

They might simply have darker pigmented eyes, which are less susceptible to bright light.

Nope both my screen and ingame brightness are set to fairly low value, if i set the ingame brightness lower i would barely see anything in game.
