RE: extra_german.lang

You can just copy and paste those symbols right onto the extra_german.lang file with those symbols you are showing me.

You can use English characters but in the text you can put whatever you want to put.

RE: extra_german.lang

Got the same problem.

I tried to translate my language file to different languages like german or spanish but some characters won't work.
Like DEFER it's about ö,ü,ä and others like á or â. They don't appear ingame.

So, there must be a way to make these characters aviable for I know that the original language files CAN actually use them.

You can just copy and paste those symbols right onto the extra_german.lang file with those symbols you are showing me.

That's the problem, it will not work.

Anybody got a solution for this?

Depends on what the charset the game uses. If those aren't appearing, there's a good chance Amnesia doesn't support them... that is if you don't see them in other translations...

You should use the translation tool, i think it is included with the tool package. Or you might be able to edit the text file by hand as you are, but you will need to make sure the encoding of the text file is UTF-8. You might need notepad++ or another advanced text editor to change the encoding incase it is incorrect.

That's it!
It worked perfectly, thank you very much jens. Smile

Such a little value but yet so much impact... my, my... But I can finally continue with translating. ^^
