Light rays at night?

My new custom story is set at night, however I have been putting blue light rays on the windows and a light gobo to go along with them. I'm wondering now if shouldn't be doing this, as the only light as night is moon light which isnt very bright. On the flip side the light rays look really good...

What does everyone think?

I think the light amount, color, and such depend on the hour, season, sky state (cloudy, clear) etc. Its color goes from grey to dark blue, never too strong. The intensity can be strong if there's full moon. Look at these examples and pick the one you like more and try to reproduce it:

RE: Light rays at night?

Well the original game had some nocturnal levels such as the study, whilst still having light rays on them. Doesn't really look realistic but certainly nice.
