Modded over actual game?

Not Solved Question  Modded over actual game?
A few years ago I would mod the game to play custom stories. I believe I accidentally modded over the actual game, so now icons are different, clicking on something get's a voice saying "the door is locked!" etc. Is there a way I can reset the game to its original settings? I won't be heartbroken if doing so means I lose save data or custom stories.
I should also say I bought the game through Frictional Games, and NOT Steam (I did my modding via a program called 7-zip or something)
Thanks!

I think only a reinstall will restore your files back to original. A reinstall shouldn't affect your saves though, as they are stored in a different location.

You won't lose any saves, since they are stored separately to Amnesia itself. If you wish though, you should backup your custom_stories folder. It shouldn't be removed if you uninstall then install, but better to be safe than sorry!

And stay away from any 7-zip modding community, they compress stuff and sh*t. (?)
