help!!

Hi guys,
I've had some experience in map making, but mainly in Hammer..
I am new to the Amnesia editor and I am having a real hard time figuring it out. Can anyone shed some thoughts on the following please?

- At the moment, if I want to transition or stretch planes, I have to mouse-click on the correct verticle and choose an action..
Is there an easier/quicker way to do those actions? Maybe a keyboard shortcut?

- Would you suggest making maps right in the 3d perspective, or by using all 3 views?

- In the 3 views - top, front, side.. planes have no depth.
What I see is a 1-dimensional line for a plane from the side views (even if I stretch it down or sideways), and a 2-dimensional area on the top view - that works properly. I wish I could work with only the top view, but thats obviously not enough..
Also, planes are invisible on the grid unless I specifically select them..
Is it normal, or is it only me (I am running the editor on win7 64 bit)?

- Is there a simpler way to navigate in the 3d view?
I believe at the moment you have to play with combinations of pressing CTRL and the mouse middle button. But then my camera goes ape-shit (I guess the word is "overly-sensitive") and I lose the area I was working on..

Because of those (seemingly little, yet majorly annoying) difficulties, I am ashamed to say I still havent been able to build a fully enclosed room (with 6 planes aligned properly). When I get past the planes editting obstacle, I hope working with entities and scripts would be more intuitive..

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know if Hammer can be somehow used to create Amensia maps, it would be great. Sorry, Frictional Games, the actual game is probably the best one I've played, but I cant figure your editor out.

Thanks

RE: help!!

Planes are mostly used for floors and sometimes ceilings. Walls are built using static entities. For shortcuts, check this thread.

RE: help!!

You'll find ceilings, pillars, walls, stairs and whatnot in the Static Objects tab.
