Spiders? In Overture? Oh, god, I'm not sure I wanna play now. :p I HATE spiders in games. Please tell me they aren't dog sized like the ones in Tomb Raider II. Those damned things dropping out of the sky on my head are the reason why I never finished that game more than once.
And just kidding about not wanting to play now. I'll still play it - and hate every second of that section. XD
Don't worry they are really tiny... BUT DEADLY. The worst part for me is that my computer doesn't really like Ouverture and 50% of the game had some texture issue, so i could see where i was going. The spider tunnel was a part of hit. oh GOD the frustration. (And for the part right before the end too. People that finished the game should see what I'm talking about... It took me 30 god damn minutes)
You probably don't like the sound of it cause the game is so ridiculously buggy. Ambitious mechanics, especially the physics-based combat, but underutilized - needed more cliff-side environs.
I just got through the section with the spiders and absolutely hated that part. >:| What really got me is the combination of the fact that 1) They hate light but weren't bothered by the glowstick or flares, 2) I would try to swing the pick axe "too fast" and the character would just look all over the place rather than doing anything 3) There is absolutely no way even on the normal difficulty to break through the rocks before they get to you even hustling as fast as possible and 4) Dynamite in the nest just breaks their eggs open but doesn't kill them!!! I think I could live with 1-3 if it weren't for 4! I read the flashlight works on them but could have sworn I tried that...maybe I just wasn't close enough for it to work.
