Gamma level won't save (bought on steam)

i figured out what it was. can't believe i overlooked it - googling it some more showed someone else had the same problem and discovered the issue.

i used a program which makes the screen easier on the eyes as the day ends, and even with this disabled for an hour, it still didn't allow changes. exiting it completely remedies my problem.

Same here. The game is near unplayable at the gamma it reverts to. I'm on an iMac, OSX 10.6.5.

It works OK if I uncheck "fullscreen" when launching, so I'm good to go.

OP: Which OS? If you're on Windows, make sure you actually have write permissions to the directory by running Amnesia as admin

umbrea: Make sure you have write permissions.

Also, what happens if you manually edit the file? Doesn't it save the changes? Which config file are you changing? You shouldn't be changing the one in the program files/amnesia folder. Instead, you should be changing the one in your documents

yes, i changed the one in my documents. when launching the game, it says it's on the level i manually changed it to, but it's really not. so it says it's on 1.3, but it's still the same as 1.0

running as an admin doesn't help, just tried it.

im on windows 7 64bit, forgot to say, sorry. i should also say i have a gtx 275 (nvidia).
just updated to the latest driver to make sure that wasnt the issue. still have the issue however, so that's ruled out.

just wish i could use the 'disable for an hour' option and it'd work. but i have to completely exit it.
