hahah oh man, ok, Asylum that I refereed to is a amnesia mod, currently being worked on by 2 people, possibly 3, myself included, there is a horror game coming out soon, that im looking forward too, I believe its on the 360 though, and it looks damn good
and monsters in Gmod, you bet it, wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to convert/compile them now

I'm gonna answer the question without reading ALL the post.
I like them both. But Amnesia is my favourite. | |

I think that Penumbra was the most memorable, dunno why but I really felt connected to . Anyway, I thought that Amnesia was a scarier game overall, but that was what they were aiming to do this time, whilst the Penumbra series wanted to create a athmosphere where everything is unknown and you really feel helpless. Overture didnt quite nail that concept as you could easily kill the dogs with your weapons. But Black Plauge, what can I say: OMGWTFBBQ!

I prefer Amnesia. Its way more scarier than Penumbra also the atmosphere and overall level design is better. I play Amnesia with 1.1 gamma. I think its perfect.
