Question regarding using assets of Amnesia in a mod for another game....

Is it illegal? I just want to use those insanley scary monster sounds for another game and be able top upload it. if not then I'd like to know.

I don't think it's illegal if you credit FG for providing the SFX and if it's not for profit. But then again I'm no expert.

Then the TESNexus moderators are just plain crazy. I was banned even though I credited FG. but I would like official confirmation. if it is OK, then I would like that so I can send it to them so they can unban me.

You ALWAYS ask permission before using anything. I won't say they didn't overreact, but then again.. I have no idea what the details are. Maybe you are a sound artist who had to make sounds but copied them.

This was just a mod for Oblivion to make the zombies more like the ones in amnesia. and I must say it worked out great. but just need to know how they stand on me using it and uploading it. not for profit of course.

there's nothing really illegal about it as far as i know, but i think it would have been wise to ask first...

I'm almost sure you need Frictional Games's permission before you use it for anything, non-profit or not.

It doesn't matter if you're not making a profit, and it doesn't matter if you credit them. Bottom line: you NEED to receive their permission first.

it depends whether they have a previously metioned opinion on the matter, if they had already stated to anyone that they didn't mind if it was used by anyone as long as they were credited it would be fine, if they have never expressed any policy than you need to find out what theirs is... also, you could make the sounds yourself... and make them sound exactly the same.
