How to open the editors?

Can this question make me sound anymore pathetic? Probably not. Anywho, I am new to this forum and my brother and I are desperatly trying to create Custom Stories for each other. I am particularly excited about mine. I downloaded all of the tools and changed the text, but I still get the error

"This application has failed to start because SDL.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."

I'm getting frustrated. Help?

Did you extracted the files into the folder where Amnesia.exe is?
And what text did you changed? What does that mean?

is the error I get when I try to extract it.

And on one of the wiki things, it gives step by step directions of changing true's to false etc. I can't remember the link though

You downloaded a zip file and when you try to extract it, it says SDL.dll was not found?
Definitely something is wrong what you are doing.

Do you have winrar or something like that installed?
Download the zip file.
Copy to the folder where Amnesia.exe exists.
Right click to the zip file.
Click on "Extract Here".
Viola!
