Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months, 4 Weeks ago Disappointed

So I read all about amnesia in a recent issue of gameinformer and was really excited to play the game, however I didnt want to download from steam. So I waited till Febuary and started searching the stores to find it. I finally found it in a Walmart, but when I tried to check out they couldnt figure out how to ring it up and refused to sell it to me. I was sick of waiting and broke down and got it from steam. Now as I feared it doesn't work. I've tried using the forum and the update, but nothing works. I use a vaio laptop with an nvidia gforce go 7400 and this is my error log. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what I'm doing wrong

Second, try to update your graphic card drivers.

I'm not blaming anybody, but obviously there are problems with the game or there wouldnt be so many post like this and retailers wouldn't be pulling it from the shelves. Reguardless of that I would have purchased the game. I simply want to know if I can make it work on this computer or if its time to start shopping for a new one

Download new drivers from nvidia.com and install them, it seems you current drivers might be a bit out of date.

I re downloaded the drivers nvidia says are the current drivers for my card, however I still cant start the game. I even double checked that I have windows xp sp3 which solved another users problem.

Couldn't create program deferred_base_vtx.glsl

Make sure you have that file in your core folder
c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/amnesia the dark descent/core/shaders
