Error given by BlackBox when I rename Amnesia to Launcher and select play from steam:
Launcher.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module atioglxx.dll at 0023:6903B212, DrvSwapBuffers()=0162 byte(s)

I've tried running everything as admin and that didn't work. I tried reinstalling but I have the same problem. I just reinstalled windows server 2008 r2(windows 7) so the only programs installed are chrome, crysis, steam, and amnesia. Has anyone seen/solved this?

EDIT: Documents/Amnesia/Launcher is empty. I added the other log files. One created by the game and the other by black box.

Do not rename amnesia to launcher? you had the game working before I take it as you have another thread where you run the game?

No, it never ran right. That thread died so I just gave up on wanting to play the game. There where a few other programs that where not working right which I couldn't fix/got tired of fixing so I reinstalled windows. Because everything started working again, I thought that Amnesia may work. But I just traded one problem for another. Because the launcher was failing, I figured that if I made steam launch the game instead it would work or at least uncover an underlying error that was not showing. I think that the Launcher fails because the game fails. If we can fix the exception thrown by the game, it should work.

I fixed it and surprisingly the game runs at a normal fps now. That fps problem must have been some dependency issue that was fixed upon reinstalling windows. The problem with the launcher was that the drivers were way out of date. I had to use the cd that my card came with to install the drivers because the ati install manager didnt detect my card. After I go the old drivers installed, the install manager would recognize the card but tell me that the drivers were current. But it still created a folder with the most current drivers in C:/ATI. I manually installed those drivers and the launcher started right up.
