Cant get through level door

I have 2 level doors on my first map, one is locked, and you need to go through the other to get the key, but when i go through the other door, and come back with the key, after i unlock the door, i still cant go through. it still makes the "locked" noise. I know i used the key seeing it isnt in my inventory but the door seems to be still locked. Does anyone know how to fix this?
