Scripting question

I really want to make my own custom story and I can make good looking, detailed maps but it's that damn scripting that makes me loose motivation. I've tried to follow the tutorials but I get headaches from them, it's so complicated!

And setting up the dev enviroment and all, is that really necessary? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I really don't know anything about scripts.

So, I probably can't make my very own solo custom story because of the scripting issue but would I have to know how to script if I made maps in a team on a custom story?

Scripting can be very intimidating, but if you don't try, you won't learn!

And yes, a dev environment is key, or else you'll be crashing because of errors and stuff. It also streamlines the process so you don't have to go through the ads and menu and stuff
