Discovered the cause of the monsters being ineffective on grand staircase, beginning work on it, will take a while, can't seem to find cause of the gallery monster.

Anytime! I have no idea for a name right now, if I come up with one, I'll let you know.

Spoiler below!

"I'll add a note and put some falling dust / fog from that hole so you can see it's there, I may add more holes just to keep a slight element of suprise in that you don't know which one he's going to drop from."

^^That sounds like a great balance between preparing the player and keeping him insecure!

"The water lurker part has a carpet covering up the hole, when you step on it the carpet disappears(I don't know how to make it fall), I'm thinking of replacing this with breakable wood since it's easier to do."

Ah, I see! I think wood would be nicer indeed: There's a note that says the wood would be decomposing due to the water flow, so breaking wood would fit to this info really good. On the other hand, a player who has read the note might be suspicious when he sees a huge area of wood and the surprise might not be that great anymore...

"The upside down room should be killing you when you fall into the darkness"

I dropped to the lowest health level with the red vision when I fell down, so I just barely survived. Maybe it just needs to be a few inches deeper. Smile

I meant there's a kill trigger there.

http://www.mediafire.com/?c3d38m47hv0ev8o

Fixed some texture bugs (gallery, dining hall)
Fixed some lighting bugs (gallery, guest halls)
Added a few missing welders to the gallery
Added some particles to the attic in gallery two
Reduced filesize to 300kb
If you've already played through the map, don't dl this again, just making it easier for new people.

So what's the ending supposed to be? After I escaped the monsters from the long staircase run and got into the tower room theres was only one door in there that worked and it had a fatal error. Said it couldn't load a map. This isn't the end, is it? That would be VERY disappointing since the thread title says it's completed.

I must say, a very good custom story man.

Spoiler below!
The notes scattered around set the mood for the coming scares, very well implemented. Personally, I shat myself when the statues came after me - when I heard them moving.

Furthermore, as this story is not 100% linear, there will be problems for some: Not having the items needed to progress once they get to that stage etc, but somehow it all works out fine. A good thing too, as it makes you actually use some brainpower.

Sometimes the brutes bugged on me: after I closed a door behind me, they just glitched in the wall and I was constantly being "chased", the music mind.

Very strong custom story. I'd recommend this anyday.
