i think it affects the wolf and spiders alertness, speed, and the amount of damage they can take and they can kill you faster.

Medium, of course, there is little difference is difficulty to be honest. The riddles are the same, and the enemies are patheticly easy to kill, especially wolves - they just sit down while you beat them and the spiders are scared of your flashlight on which you have alot of battery power.

RE: what difficulty do you play first
Well the first time I player Penumbra: Overture, I played it in the Hard skill. I love a challenge, and I like taking lots of punishment and getting a good shit-kicking, but that’s just me and my sadomasochist nature. Playing Hard first has it’s pros and cons, the first time you play, you will face a challenge, along with the surprise of the horrors of the game to await ahead. The bad thing about playing the Hard skill, is once you beat the game, you will want to play it again, and you will want to choose the skill you haven’t played yet. Normal and Easy are too simple, and therefore most of the thrill is taken out of the game, after that. But I found that playing on Hard was the best, because killing your enemies is harder, and your best defense is running and hiding. But beating the spiders and cave wolves to death with the rock hammer is fun in Normal or Easy mode, where as it isn’t so simple in the Hard journey.

RE: what difficulty do you play first
If the hard in Black Plague is too easy, I'll modify the enemies so they're much tougher =) I can do this for overture, just PM me and I'll make some files. It would mainly make them alot faster, hurt you more, have more life, and (I believe) make it harder for them to fall down, if at all.
EDIT: Actually, I'm going to go see if I can do that. Updates soon.
Please -REP me.
Honestly, please do. I want to see how low I can go!!
Ignore that error message too. Just ignore it and keep going to give me -rep.
