How do I actually play a custom story?

For some reason, I cannot for the very life of me figure out how to play a custom story on this game. Can someone please help me out?

Go to Amnesia The Dark Descent / Redist/ Custom storys
Put the file in your custom story folder.

I tried doing that, but nothing shows up in the custom story part when I start the game.

Update... it would seem you have to make a direct unzipping into the custom story folder. No unzipping elsewhere and then moving the folder.

You know the layout of the custom_stories folder?
|custom_stories
|-custom_story_you_want_to_play
|--there must be a file called custom_story_settings.cfg

I figured out what I did wrong. Apparently you have to make a direct unzipping to the custom stories folders. You can't unzip and just move the folder in.

Yes you can, you probably just moved a nested folder in there by mistake.
ie.
custom stories
--cool custom story
----cool custom story
------cool custom story files
