Patch for Amnesia (Amazon Download)?

Hi, im new here Smile

I just downloaded Amnesia from Amazon, and i was wondering is there anyway to get the patch to work for the Amazon version. I downloaded the patch from here http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/96/ but it doesn't seem to work when i install it. I was wondering if anyone can help me, maybe someone who has downloaded the amazon version.

oh and i contacted Amazon, and they r not sure what to do. They did say they would refund it for me, but i was wondering if you guys knew how to help me Smile

I can probably help you, but I need a few details.

-In Amnesia's program files directory, what files/folders do you have? Not sure if the path to get to the folder is the same for Amazon people, but for me it is C:/Program Files (x86)/Amnesia - The Dark Descent. Mine looks like this:

If you don't have a redist folder in your directory, or if installing the update created one that wasn't there before, you might have to manually update each file.

When i downloaded Amnesia from Amazon it created a folder "Amnesia" and when i downloaded the update it created a separate folder "Amnesia - The Dark Descent"

Ok, now try to merge the folder contents together. Select the two unins000 files and the Remember pdf from the update folder and move them into the normal Amazon folder. Go into the unins000 folder and do the same. Now, go into the redist update folder. Merge those files and folders with Amazon's folder.

when i do this it asks me if i want to replace some of the files, since some of them have the same name. do i replace them?

I replaced them and It worked!!! I now have the Justine button on the launcher now.

I think Valusoft released the same installer on Amazon as they use for the retail DVD.

Where do I put the valuesoft update at? I tried to install it, but it said it can't find the previous amnesia game for some reason.
