Are you sure you need to find python 2.49? It sounds like you need blender 2.49, with correctly installed python. I am using blender 2.49 with python 2.6 and I can export dae. Can you provide me some info about your system? Do it like this, go to help,-> system information. Then change to text view. Open system-info (or something like that) and post contents here, so I may be help you.

1. You need python 2.6.2 before Blender 2.49's Calada (orsomething :p) export will work
and with the calada export you can create proper .dae files
2. I also had the problem that my Model Viewer was crashing when I was initialising my model and that was because the model didn't have a texture.

with blender 2.49 you need Python 2.5.2 installed at default directory( at C:\ only)

I did everything as 3d blender tutorial which send @Tanshaydar but of course all the time doesn't work. Don't see object under lveleditor and game. I'm very happy

With this approach, a lot of these models will not be made
I have more nice projects but "life"
