Yup, C++ is used for all programming.

I have been programming for like 10 years, since I was 16.

Well, you must not forget the fact that Thomas isn't human at all, and that he worships some strange ancient deities which happen to live at the very bottom of the sea.
Jokes aside, learning to program isn't the biggest deal in game development, but it certainly is a key point.
