Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago Freezing on map startup

So,

I was working on a custom map in the editor, which previously worked flawlessly, and then decided to add around 50 (+-) grass objects. All were set not to collide with enviroment. But upon startup, a had like 0.5 FPS, couldnt move and i still heard only the main menu music, although on the screen there as already the custom map. Had to crtl alt del out of it after like 3 minutes of waiting.

I thought that colliding objects might be the problem, so i decided to delete all the grass that i added previously. But no luck, what previously worked, now does not, since i have the same problem again. And no, there are no carpets / matresses in the map that might collide with other objects / entities.

I tried starting it up multiple times but still no luck.

Any guess what might be the source of the trouble ?

Could you be more specific ? " item " is a quite wide term

Do objects count as colliding even when the " Collides " option is unticked ?

Is there any way to check which object collide without having to look at everything manually ?

You were not able to move because the grass collided with you. The slow FPS at the start of the map means that there are so many objects there that your computer has difficulty showing them. For now, make sure all the grass in non-colliable. You can see everything placed in the map by pressing CTRL+F as far as I remember.

I unticked the " collides " box before placing it Smile

Never mind, i deleted some trees that were colliding with a black plane and it works k.

I would like to know, either way, if someone could answer the questions above Smile Whether there is some " collision check " or anything

As far as I know, no there is no collision check or similar. But you can easily check everything in the map with CTRL+F. There are some details there.

In genera, very slow FPS at start means objects heavily colliding with each other.

Using CRTL+F comes up only the " Find Objects " tab, and that is quite hard to use when there are 100s of objects.

There is most likely one bugged object, but i cant find out which one is it. Map view is the only tool that might help, but im getting there like 0.2 FPS and cant even rotate the camera.

I would be grateful if someone could identify this.... It is not a matress.
