The game freezes and the screen turns white!

Hi,


I recently bought Amnesia: The dark descent. When I started playing I soon realized that the game crashes after about 10 minutes of gaming. The game first freezes. A few seconds later the screen turns black and then white. Now I am able to use the computer as normally, but Amnesia keeps being white. When I click Amnesia with my mouse, Windows says Amnesia has stopped responding, and I am forced to shut down the program. I am using a self built desktop computer with Windows 7 64-bit OS with two screens.


I feel I should mention that I have done a change in the registry on the computer. Since I use a SSD for my OS, I do not wish to store my documents on the SSD. Therefore I have changed the registry destination for my documents from C:\Users\Username to D:\Username. Since the safe-folder is located in my document folder, I thought the changes in the registry might be the reason for the freeze?

Have you tried re-installing the game or if on Steam verifying the integrity of the game cache?

I just tried verifying the integrity of the game cache, and Steam found one error in it So I hope it will fix my problems!

My game crashed again today, so it didnt help Any other ideas what might be wrong?

maybe another program is interfering like antivirus etc... Or some operating system issue. This has to do with your computer and not Amnesia.
