Metro 2033 (was) free on facebook

I'm a great fan of Metro 2033. I read the book and I think the 4A Games did a great job making a game from it. To drum up excitement for the new Metro game THQ have made a new promotional campaign where you hit "like" on their facebookpage and they give you a code for a free copy of Metro 2033.

I find this a bit strange though, with THQs financial troubles they still decide to give away one of their titles for free? Eventhough Metro 2033 is a bit old now and propably doesn't sell all that well I still find it odd...but I don't complain! Smile

Like I said, I loved Metro and think it's great that people that wouldn't normally pick up a game like Metro now get a chance to play it. And if they like it they're bound to buy the next instalation to the series.
Can't wait for Metro Last Light to be released ^^

This is a cool promotion though. I approve. perhaps provide a link to their Facebook page?

EDIT: Just picked it up myself. Can't wait to try it, and see if it gets me interested in the next installment!

Sucks for you that you've just bought it. But atleast you've given the developers some suport Wink

Kreekakon: Hope you'll like it! I've spent countless hours wandering the Metro, they really captured the atmosphere from the book. And judging from the trailers their next game will be another great adventure.
They've made a few live-action trailers (Of course they don't give away much of the actual game, but they're still very good and gives a good view of the life in the metro):

Hell yeah! I actually used to own this game, but it got lost because it was on another Steam account, yaddayadda...long story. Anyway, it's awesome to have it again!

I remember having this on xbox and I remember how amazing this game was. I'm glad I can have it again.

Heh, do you imagine that you download, you are going to play it, and it says: "LOL f**k off, did you really think you were going to play it by free" and it disinstalls itself.

Something similar happened to me. I bought it in Steam, I was going to play it (after six days of trying to install) and "LOL missing PhsyX.dll thing this can be fixed by re-installing". I removed it and, after a minute of doing so, I see this video:

Hm, yeah I remember having a similar bug, back then when the game got released. This time everything went smoothly though... wonder why they never bothered to do anything about it? They could have at least have the game display a message with instructions on how to fix it when you start it Tongue
