Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago laggy as hell

Alright, Amnesia ran fine a couple months back. Now it lags like hell and it's annoying me because I got a new GPU and CPU since then and it shouldn't be doing this!

I have a Radeon 6870 1gb
AMD Phenom II x4 @3.01GHz
4GB ram

Can someone help please?

Where did you get the game from?

No problem Smile and there seems to be some missing particle systems. Try doing a Steam integrity check.

Steps on how to do so here

Looking at your HPL.log file tells me that you're getting a 57 FPS average. That's not really laggy

It was on lowest settings. It was stuttering very badly, too. I don't think the log is listing it right.

I tried it again and it stopped with the lag spikes, there are a bit but it's mostly ironed out.

after the integrity check it should be just fine, some files are corrupted. This tends to happen with steam games.

Edit: We posted at the same time, try again the integrity check. There are still file errors.

I'm thinking Steam isn't installing it right. Is there a way to do it manually?

No, I don't think so. Try loading an earlier save game before entering the laggy area and see if that helps.
