RE: Screenshot criticism thread

				Btw, having a level that's both inside and outside in one map is incredibly hard to pull off believably. Good luck with that- I tried to do it with Bitterwood Peak, making the whole thing one seamless level with no load times, but it just crippled the framerate. HPL2 isn't built for large outdoor areas, at all. It is, however, great at implying large outdoor areas so you can imagine it for yourself. For example, the study in Amnesia where you look out over the large foggy forest- graphically simplistic, but incredibly believable.

That is sucks badly IMO. If your working on lighting, I'm assuming your close to completing that area/map.

Lighting and level design go hand in hand. If either one is bad, the entire thing will be bad. So work more on your level designing also!
Woah woah, that's exactly why it was irrelevant!
But thanks for the other stuff. Though, I had already figured that out with the boxlights. The problem was that my house wasn't a square. Therefore the boxlight couldn't cover it properly, and i had to use 2 boxlight which completely messed it up.

I figured that I'm going to do this in 2 maps now.

And of course I know it's far from done! It's far from anything! I started working on it today!

Don't take me for a beginner I've been doing this before.

I appreciate your will to help! It's awesome to have people who wants to help!

<another mind-blowing, amazing screenshot>
Seriously, I'd kill to make maps that amazing. I'm a little apprehensive about posting one of my own screenshots after this amazing-ness. I think I'll wait and keep tweaking it until someone else posts a screenshot :p

I like it, but it needs a liiiiittle bit of detail work - like decals on the floor where dust would naturally gather. What kind of room is this? It reminds me a little bit of how the tourist areas of museums are set up with the ropes and everything. If it is a tourist site, you could probably scatter some papers on the ground like pamphlets.

Other than that, the lighting could use a bit of work, it seems fairly evenly lit, but I don't see many large/significant light sources giving off enough light to make the room that bright.The windows look like they have a hint of green lighting around them, which is really nice, but you need to get rid of those large, white pointlights.

On another note: the eagles on top of those large pedestals is a nice touch :D

You are kind of mixing two themes here. It makes it look a little misplaced, but we'll go with it.
I'd change the floor. Those metal-thingies combined with a stone-floor does not seem to work together. I'd use tiles instead.
