Overture bug - can't pick up string for ammunition barrel

At the bit in Overture where you have to use some string on an ammunition barrel to make a fuse, it won't let me pick up the string. Not sure what's wrong.

If you have the "explosive manual" you'll be able to get the string out of the little box in the workshop. But if not, it might be techical problem.

Yeah, I do believe I got that.

Maybe I need to examine the TNT barrel first?

Edit: Ah, nevermind. It was just me being forgetful - I missed the explosive manual.
