RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Well maybe some amors, paintings, and some of the MFP furniture? Like flowers, a sofa? There are many ways to make it look much better :L
The question that will never be answered:
SOMA WHY ARE YOU SO BEAUTIFUL? ;_;

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Hmm.. Well, Fancy chairs, love seats, and then a table with maybe some fancy flowers in a fancy vase on it with fancy stuff. Big drapes hung from the ceiling?

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Pointlights, pointlights, and pointlights. That's the first thing to do in my opinion. I am still surprised when I see a level lit only with a boxlight and lamps, I think this is the kind of things that should be as gone as the iron maiden scream and teleporting naked guys : /.
Then, pianos, sofas, places to talk, places to eat, drink cabinets, some bookshelves, random stuff left behind, small tables with drinks/flowers/papers on it.
Amors, paintings and statues help as well though I'm not a huge fan of Amnesia's statue models. Armors are cool though, even if they have been a bit overused :B.
Lamps on some tables, near sofas and a low table where people used to talk and rest...

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Yeah, I kind of forgot that u_u. Thanks for reminding us, Kman. Basically welders, beams, carpets and curtains make the planes a lot more dynamic and entertaining to look at. So yeah, they are very good to use especially if you have large ceilings/floors/wall sections.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Hey there! I'm currently working with Zandrojakov to create a custom story called "Helena" and we would like some feedback in regard to some screenshots.
Anything you can think of to help better the look of the story would be so incredibly helpful.

The amnesia mansion base is overused, the more you get rid of the amnesia look, the better. Imo.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
That first image as well, now that I look at it on my laptop;
That shadow on the back wall (where Alexander's painting is) should not be there. Despite the light from the chandeliers and stuff being there to cast off shadows, the room is far too bright for shadows of that darkness. That part to me seems the most unrealistic about it, but I do like how all the space is taken up.

Directed at someone else but applicable for you as well:

I think the lighting is too 'uniformly' bright. I'd like more contrast - darker areas etc. Ultimately everyone makes lighting their own way.
