Unresolved crash at start, please help!

are you stupid? I can't attach something that i don't have access too. I gets to 30% then "aamfp is not responding" then prompts me to close it, which I have already stated above.

Are you sure the file is not there or are you assuming that because it crashes early there is no file? If indeed it's not there, then definitely some background program/service is not allowing the game to run. Check the known programs that cause issues with the game mentioned at the troubleshooting guide. There are bound to me more though so close everything running in the background and try again.

Sorry for getting uppity with you, I have three games not working atm and it gets aggravating. Thanks for being patient.

I found the hpl for pig, but i couldn't find one for the dark descent which i'm also having trouble with.

You are trying to run the game at a resolution not supported by your monitor. Select 1600 x 900 at the launcher and try again.

I'm unable to access the launcher, when I choose settings launcher, nothing happens.

Go to Douments\Amnesia\Pig and delete all .cfg files (should be two in all folders).

in that folder there is only the hpl file. should i check the steam amnesia folder?

there is a lot more than 2 .cfg in the steam amnesia folder.

Well it seems to be the resolution but you need to find a way to change it to a supported one like your native (1600x900).

Don't change the .cfg files at the steam folder. Place the file attached to Documents\Amnesia\Pig and try to start the game. If it fails again, attach HPL.log after the crash to verify the resolution change.

1) Can you verify that your monitor indeed runs at the native resolution which I am lead to believe is 1600x900? Right click > Screen Resolution. It should say 1600 x 900 (Recommended).
2) Make sure your DPI is set to 100% (default). Type DPI at Start search and it should pop-up.
3) Try to run the game in windowed mode (download the new .cfg file attached).
