From what we currently know, SOMA takes place exclusively underwater (in the open ocean floor, inside underwater facilities and sunken ships), because allegedly the surface of the Earth has been destroyed by an asteroid strike.

Good idea spukrian, it makes sense. I wish someone had thought of this sooner, haha.

- I don't always remember that there is one.
- I generally am sceptical if it's updated to the latest stand.
- I don't want to rummage through the contents to find exactly what I searched for.
- I assume that my question will not be answered there.
You see, the problem with the reasons you listed for not using the Info Portal is that they're all focused on your own shortcomings and not on the Info Portal itself. There's really nothing Paddy and I can do to:

- Strengthen your memory;
- Instil in you a sense of trust in other people's efforts;
- Enhance your search skills on how to find specific information in a web page;
- Prevent you from making unfounded assumptions.

Anyway, Paddy has already replied to you in more detail, and I'm with him 100%, so if you have any helpful feedback, feel free to post in the Info Portal thread or PM us. Let's leave this thread for the discussion about SOMA now.

Good idea! Maybe it could be about the films generally rather than just Depth; the SOMA site has 5 empty spaces for more SCP-like files, and the first two were each accompanied by a short film, so I guess we're due to get 5 more?
EDIT:

I'm reading Chris' Survival Horror Quest website, and in his latest post about Alien: Isolation he has an aside where he talks about a discussion he had with Thomas Grip:
 Chris Pruett Wrote:Speaking of Thomas Grip, I chatted with him at the annual Game Developer's Conference this year. He's hard at work on SOMA, which, from the little I've seen, is going to be the best horror game available on a console for a long while. One of the things we discussed was the ways in which that sense of presence is built (or, in many cases, destroyed). Sense of presence goes beyond suspension of disbelief; it is the feeling that the world is real, that you are in it, and that the consequences of your actions are therefore meaningful. It's an incredibly hard feeling to create; most games don't manage it. Those that do are often horror games, and those horror games are the best horror games.
Nice!

				Hi. my name is sangjun koo.
I want to make contribution to have Korean translation.
I have made unofficial Korean translation patch Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia : Machine for pigs. Attached pictures are the sample of the patch.

I'd like to make voluntary Korean patch.
What I only want is SOMA released in Korean version so that many Korean players can play official SOMA in Korean.

Yeah, it was posted on page 223: https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...e-223.html
My perverted mind jumped into the same conclusion first as well, but the wording of that short description was different and if you re-read it again it becomes apparent that it is probably just the platonic love of a child to his parent (family love,. ie excessively fond of).

Unless, of course, I'm wrong, and this will be indeed complex clusterfuck.

Seems like DavidS' " temporary main menu" is still being used.

Hahaha holy shit!! A brightened version:

Thomas, whatever you're planning is against God and against nature.

EDIT: There are two new versions of OpenGL; version 4.5, which is out now, and a next-gen version which is due out later. I wonder if SOMA will make use of either of these.

This is the image Ghieri posted:
 https://www.dropbox.com/s/cp6zk5aw25uvad..._Hotel.png
It doesn't show up for some reason, I had to right-click over [Image: SOMA_Hotel.png] and select "View Image".

EDIT: I think it's because it's not a direct link to an image, it opens a Dropbox page even though the link ends in .png
