Yes, many reasons, one being what they call "power struggle" - don't know what that means.
But in the end, he stated MGSV being the last in the franchise, so no more Metal Gear games, I suppose.
I was kinda seeing this coming, especially as he's an old man now, a senior. He might want to do spend doing something else with his life.
