RE: The Ultimate SOMA Discussion Thread

Plain text description won't work here. It either encrypted data or a key for encrypted data.

We need to know encryption method and have a text [or a key in second case].

The fact that the data seems very randomly distributed makes me believe that it has been encrypted with a secure cipher. If it's indeed a block cipher, the two identical parts must mean that it's been encrypted in ECB mode with a block size of 8 bytes. It would also mean that the cipher is probably DES because most other block ciphers operate on 128 bit blocks. Hmm.

The size of the data is 728 bytes in raw

Not our fault nobody used the ARG groups on Steam for this. This was the perfect opportunity to flag the alarms and revive them. Then we'd have been here days earlier.

What command do I use to exit a directory (I'm in WAU), sorry but I'm not terminal savvy and I'm kind of trial-and-erroring this.
