Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago SOMA REVIEW COPY Resolution Issues

Hi, my name is Johan, also known as Captain Indie. I'm playing the review copy right now for a video review on my channel that will also be published in revistalevelup.com

I'm having a resolution issue. I'm playing on my TV because I really want to be scared Smile
Thing is, I can't set the game to 1080p. My TV is 1080p and everything is set correctly according to the troublishooting guide. When I set the game to 1080p, the game doesn't show correctly, but out of proportion.

Thought it would be nice to let you know of this. But nothing game breaking, I will play it at 720p no matter what.

I have a GTx 960 so it's not a GPU issue.

Thanks!

Seeing as the game isn't release to us peasants yet, I can't say with experience, but I'm sure Jens will come around with some pro advice shortly Wink

Though I have a suspicion. Either the TV is the issue, or (because someone else had a similar issue with Penumbra on a TV just now) the HPL engine acts strangely to them. If so, it might be worth looking into.

Might have to use the nvidia control panel to adjust the position/size to fit on the TV, it is quite common that output to a TV is not as accurate as on a monitor (hence why the specific controls in the nvidia panel for it). I've tested output in 1080 to TV on an old GT 320M and it was working fine, but my current TV and that computer has always worked as perfect as a monitor. My old TV, that was a plasma, however had to adjust the settings to make it fit.

Also try disabling DPI scaling for Soma.exe, it might be causing issues as well.

Thank you all. The DPI thing was the solution.

Is there an email to report any bugs I find on my playtrough?

Also...Thanks frictional for having me near a heart attack with this game xD

Yes, that's a typical problem of DPI scaling. Glad you got it resolved.

For where to report issues I suggest you ask Jens or check if there are any directions with the review copy you received. I'm not sure of the policy FG wants to follow until the game is released.

Before release I think easiest is to just PM me here on the forum. Post release in the tech support section as all threads with a solution is helpful to others.
